How hot is the water can I get from my system?
On a hot sunny day, the collectors will raise the water temperature to approximately 2 times the daily maximum temperature. My solar system with three collectors can obtain higher temperature.
What is the best way to use MySolar Concept?
Although MySolar Concept heats water through natural process, you can increase the system overall performance and net power savings via the electric booster. For example, solar energy input is highest on sunny day between 10am to 3pm. Therefore, you may do your heavy washing errands between these hour.
For the early morning shower, do I have to switch on the booster heater during the night?
No. The booster heater needs to be switched on only in case of bad weather or excessive hot water usage.
Sometimes, the temperature of the morning water seems lower than the evening before. Does this mean that the tank is losing heat?
This phenomenon is referred to as “temperature run down”. This happens when the colder water during the night mixes with the hot water in the top portion of thetank. The tank does not loose heat, however overall temperature will be lower due to this mixing of different water temperature. |
Will I still get hot water during rainy days?
If rain continues for a few days, it will be necessary to turn the booster heater on. Else, a short period of rainfall should not affect the hot water supply.
MySolar Concept system saves money when the sun is sunny. Aren’t these savings lost by the operating cost of the electric booster on dull and rainy days?
No, the booster acts as back up. It does not switch on each time the sun goes down in the evening. It will only operate when the temperature drops below 50C, the booster will shut off automatically. With manual over-ride switch, you can control the booster when preferred.
Should I on the booster heater on days that I require more than average amount of water?
This is a preference choice as sometimes it is possible that during certain occasion, we do need greater quantity of water. In such cases, turn the booster heater on.
It is a hot and sunny day, but the water is not hot. What is wrong?
In the earlier time of the day, did you used more than average amount of water? If yes, turn the booster heater on. Should the problem persist, please call MySolar Concept Service Center.
